By the way this letter is saying that the undersigned is directed to convey the approval of the Federal Government for grant of one time Eid-ul-Fitr Allowance @ 15% of the basic pay which shall be admissible to all the civil employees in BPS 01-22 of the Federal Government including employees of the Federal Secretariat, divisions and attached departments subject to the following conditions:

  • This Allowance will not be admissible to the employees of the organizations and autonomous bodies/ corporations.
  • This Allowance will be subjected to Income Tax.
  • This Allowance will not be admissible to the employees who are posted/deputed abroad.
  • This Allowance will be admissible during the period of suspension.

All the Ministries/ Divisions/ Attached Departments/ Subordinate Offices will meet the expenditure out of their budgetary allocation and no additional funds will be allowed to them for this purpose during the financial year 2023-2024. All the Principal Accounting Officers and Heads of the departments are requested to ensure the compliance of this OM in letter and spirit.
