SAPM on Youth Affairs Urges Students to Grow Their Skills in Entrepreneurship and Freelancing

Special assistant to Prime Minister on youth affairs, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Presided over a meeting of VCs and other senior officers of different Universities on 21 June 2022. In the meeting core discussion was the formulation of effective policies for the youth across the Country.

SPAM mainly emphasized the need to accelerate the freelancing and entrepreneurship industry to empower University students and unemployed youth. She also highlighted the important steps taken to bring change and innovation in the Agriculture sector. The VCs and other Senior Officials suggested that training initiatives should be launched at the lower level and then focus should be given to the students who want to pursue higher studies in the relevant fields.

A representative from various institutions appreciated the ideas of the PM youth program for working closely with the education sector of the COuntry. In the recent budget, govt suggested inputting the tax on freelancing income. if the income is 1 lac or above then 30% will be taxed. Which disappointed the youth who are currently moving towards the global sector of freelancing. It is important that govt should not put this tax in order to take up youth towards entrepreneurship and freelancing sector.
