Punjab School Teachers demand 50pc increase in salary in Budget 2022

Punjab School Education Department Teachers demand a 50pc increase in their salaries in Budget 2022.

Punjab Teachers Union PTU raised this issue and demanded 50% increments. Speaking to the media PTU top leadership told that they have drafted a proposal and have been sent it to Prime Minister, Finance minister, Cheif Minister Punjab & Secretary Finance Punjab.

Central president or PTU Chauhdry Sarfaraz said that govt employees are key factors of Govt and without them, govt can not govern but govt employees are suffering from financial problems due to an unfair system of salaries. Federal Govt Employees are enjoying extra increments while Punjab Govt employees are waiting for an increment from 1 year but there is no good news for them.

He also said that govt should merge all Adhoc allowances into basic salary and pay scales should be revised in the 2022 budget. The last time pay scales were revised was in 2017 and now it’s 5 years passed but no revision of pay scales.

It is also mentioned that as petrol prices are increased but conveyance allowance of Punjab govt employees is still fixed as was in 2017. Govt teacher and other employees can not bear the petrol prices on old conveyance allowance. Conveyance allowance should be increased on the ratio of petrol prices.
